Family & Junior Guidelines

Family & Junior Guidelines

This is an orientation file for the adaptation of juniors and guardians.

Our school only allows juniors to register with a guardian (parent). Therefore, we would like to clarify that the safety and life of juniors are primarily the responsibility of the guardian.

1. RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY

1.1. You (the guardian) are ultimately responsible for the safety of you and your juniors on and off campus. To prevent safety accidents on or off campus, guardians are asked to monitor Juniors closely.

1.2. Please be careful to avoid safety accidents when going out or traveling. Avoid too cheap travel products/services/car rentals/snorkeling. In particular, be careful when doing water activities or island hopping, as there are safety accidents.

1.3. If you find anything that may pose a safety hazard in the campus, please notify the manager.

2. COMMUNICATION WITH MANAGEMENT

2.1. Your manager is always ready to support you. However, unless it is an emergency, please contact the manager during working hours (Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00).

2.2. If you have any inconveniences/complaints, please notify the management. We will handle it promptly.

2.3. It will help to resolve the problem quickly if you notify the office/manager directly rather than conveying your complaint through the agent.

3. PROMPT NOTICE

3.1. In case of serious or urgent matters, please contact management immediately. For example, the following cases apply:
• A serious problem with the teacher’s attitude.
• Teacher’s touching/skinship with the junior.
• Need to go to the hospital at night.

3.2. If the manager does not answer your call at night, ask the security guard for help. The security guard can call other managers and related staff.

4. CLASS OPERATION

4.1. Regular classes begin on Tuesday mornings (08: 00 or 08:50), but for short-term studies of 1-2 weeks, classes start around 11:00 on Monday.

4.2. Classes start on time. When the bell rings, the teacher starts the class right away.

4.3. We strictly monitor student attendance. If a student is frequently absent (3 times/classes per week) or late (5 times/classes per week), he or she may be subject to mandatory self-study or penalties.

4.4. The first 3-4 minutes of class are for homework or brief review of the last topic.

4.5. Preview Learning: Teachers will inform you of the class content or topics 1-2 weeks in advance. Therefore, students need to study in advance.

4.6. Parents should monitor whether Junior is adapting to the pace or difficulty of classes and share this with the Academic Office (or Buddy Teacher).

4.7. During class, discriminatory conversations or discussions about nationality/racial/gender/age are prohibited. Also, political or sensitive issues are not discussed in the classroom.

4.8. Please check if the textbook you purchased is suitable for your preference or level. If it is not suitable, please request a refund within 2 days of purchase.

4.9. If you wish to use your own books/materials in class, please obtain prior approval from the Academic Office. please.

5. CLASS SCHEDULE & CHANGES

5.1. Customized Curriculum: Our classes have a high proportion of speaking, but we can provide a curriculum that reflects the opinions of students. We meet students’ requests not only in terms of subjects but also in terms of class difficulty and pace.

5.2. If you have received the class schedule, please check if the class schedule matches the class assignment of the course you applied for. If not, please contact the Academic Office immediately.

5.3. If the student’s English level is too low, there are cases where group classes with other students are not possible, we will consider 2 hours of group classes as 1 hour of one-on-one classes. However, this is only allowed for up to 4 weeks.

5.4. If the junior’s level is very low, the class arrangement can only be arranged as one-on-one classes. 2 hours of group classes are considered as 1 hour of one-on-one classes. However, such class arrangements are limited to a maximum of 4 weeks.
